Designed specifically for our members and the public in quarantine, Social Soul Sessions (SSS) is an online programming about connection for those in isolation through the arts. The topics range from literature and films to music and other entertainment.
For the Music Lovers
The music segment of SSS will feature a monthly playlist recommended by an industry leader. Every month join us to talk about the songs and its curation, in a book club-esque conversation with other aficionados and fans. Listen to these tracks before our social session.
Session #1 Hong Kong Jazz Academy Picks
Specially curated playlists from Alan Kwan director of the Hong Kong Jazz Academy.
Jazz for a Day in Quarantine
More modern style jazz for the daytime because classic jazz recordings may make you feel like you are in a club at night.
I read a couple of articles about sleeping, and they say we should open all the windows and lights in the morning, so the body knows that it's the daytime. Then block all the lights at night before you sleep, so the body can generate melatonin. I think music is the same, so I've picked all the energetic tunes for this list.
Jazz for a Night in Quarantine
There are too many good jazz tunes for the night. I just picked a handful of them. However, I am trying to put together a list that will make you calm before sleeping… if you listen to them in order. I don't just want to put on something boring to put you to sleep right away, so follow in order from a little exciting to chill.
And hey, there are some tunes from mine and my friends' albums.
