韓劇、韓國綜藝節目、韓星讓大眾對韓國大眾文化的認知及關注度上升，但其實韓流文化對香港的深遠影響可追溯至2000年代。當時的 《大長今》、《冬季戀歌》、韓國综藝節目 《無限挑戰》等已開始影響香港的電視節目發展，而韓國歌手MV的歌詞也有不同的深層意思，反映出當時的韓流文化。為加深公眾對韓國大眾文化演變的認識，更加了解其吸引之處以及對全世界的影響力，亞洲協會香港中心及駐香港韓國文化院將舉辦韓國大眾文化講座，讓大家更深入探索韓國的大眾文化。

People started to raise their awareness and interest in Korean popular culture because of K-Dramas, variety shows, and celebrities. Korean popular culture has had a profound impact on Hong Kong since the 2000s. The drama "Dae Jang Geum", Winter Sonata", and the Korean variety show, "Infinite Challenge", all of which have influenced the development of Hong Kong TV programs. On the other hand, music videos and lyrics of Korean songs also have different underlying meanings that reflect Korean popular culture at that time. Thus, to let people understand more about the evolution of Korean popular culture and its appeal and influence on the world, Asia Society Hong Kong Center and Korean Cultural Centre in Hong Kong will be holding seminars for the public to understand more about Korean popular culture.
