"The World of 2084" is an ongoing interdisciplinary project by artist Michelle Fung. The concept revolves around a grand ecotopian / dystopian space consisting of five imaginary countries (G5, the Great Five Industrial Nations): Contradictoria, Northlandia, Dreamland, the Aristocratic Union and the Republic of Strata. Weaving the micro-narratives of these countries together, it brought to life a grand narrative of the world in 2084, portraying the artist's imagined futuristic geopolitical world.

Under this project, Fung has created two hand-painted animations to date. In "Polluta", we visit the "utopian" floating artist colony Polluta through Mrs. Elisa Riff, a deadpan TV host, and Miss Papagandria, a flamboyant journalist. At the end of the film, select artist characters are discontent with the "perfect" ecotopia and decide to take the matter into their own hands.

"Plastic, plastic, every where!" is a prelude to her ongoing project. In this dystopian cautionary tale on marine plastic pollution, a global craze for plastic originates from the 2084 annual meeting of the Great Five Industrial Nations. The delegate from the imaginary country of Contradictoria (in pig form) proposes that if animals can learn to eat plastic, why can't children?
