Designed specifically for our members and the public in quarantine, Social Soul Sessions (SSS) is an online programming about connection for those in isolation through the arts. The topics range from literature and films to music and other entertainment.

For the Music Lovers

The music segment of SSS will feature a monthly playlist recommended by an industry leader. Every month join us to talk about the songs and its curation, in a book club-esque conversation with other aficionados and fans. Listen to these tracks before our social session.

Black Velvet Collective Picks of the Month

At the centre of the resurgence of folk and world music in Hong Kong sits the Black Velvet Collective (BVC) comprising some of the finest folk musicians based in this World City; Mark Rawson, Jim Alba-Duignan, Mark Basford and Daniel Marguiles assisted by Aleks Softley, Sarah Johnson and many others, have been performing to sell out crowds at the new 'folk clubs/festivals' springing up around town and have recorded their first album of all original music (Sunset Peak) which launched in February this year.

Mark Rawson, the primary composer of BVC will join us in introducing some recent contemporary folk music created here in Hong Kong and from around the world.
